I would have as a guess that the connector is being bolted to the flange on the foundations.
Previous underwater photos released by CWE show no connector was installed at that time the photos were released. The piles cannot be driven with the connector attached.
There have been two vessels in attendance over the last few days that belong to Total Marine Solutions, a Freemantle based company that's premises are adjacent to CWE's facility at Freemantle. CWE have used Total vessels for deployment over the last six months. One of the services that Total provide is divers. Reading the play I would say that the crane in being used to lower the connector ( 2 meters in diameter) to allow this and other connectors to be put in place ready for full deployment.
Tracing of both Total Assist and Total Response shows them returning to their facility beside CWE's daily after the Garden Island deployment site.
