What you saw was the shorters were prepared to exit. I believed they were not forced out immediately. They are buying to return the free float shares to hedge funds. Definitely after AJM was removed from asx-300, shorters were not allowed to trade AJM shares. So don't worry about shorters any more. Though shorters were careful not to push the sp up too much, eventually they have to pay back all free float shares. So sp rise will be inevitable. By the way since I expressed my confidence in AJM sp was recovered, I followed that up by purchasing more AJM shares yesterday.
