I typed some misinformation in my post I should fix up. The man was the SON of the founder of Edge, although he was a famous preacher and went around touring etc. Is this story national or just SA based? It really is very interesting.

Anyway, the SA newspaper today revealed the reason behind his web of deceit... he was addicted to porn. I have no idea why being addicted to pornography led him to dupe millions into believing he is terminally ill but that was what the newspaper said.

Anyway, not trying to rag on all Christians, you get some dodgey types in any group of people. My point was, if you believe something, sometimes it can be wrong but because your mind thinks it to be true it can still affect you psychologically and emotionally.

The thing I don't like about Christianity, if anyone is ineterested, is that I am apparently going to suffer eternal damnation just because I find it hard to believe the story. That just seems mean to me. Why can't God be tolerant of other people's beliefs? And why was he so mean to Job?
