To understand shorters, you need to study mammalian anatomy ...specifically you would need to study a formation of three columns of tissue, two arranged laterally on the dorsum (corpora cavernosa) and one median ventrally (corpus spongiosum ); more familiarly know as 'dicks'.
Additional understanding can be gained by studying the Ethology of weasels, rats, snakes, hyena, slugs, and vultures.
