In 6 weeks, the shorts have nearly halved. But what I have noticed (in comparing the charts of shorts and our SP) the inverse correlation takes time to materialise. I see it in other stocks too. I don't why but maybe its because short positions are taken up well before a change of sentiment and momentum is anticipated and the same goes for when the short positions are covered. I guess thats because they don't want to have to be in a position to have to buy back in a scramble when the hordes return. I don't know, but the contrarian action certainly seems to have worked in their favour:-
So, given that our SP continues to languish despite the amount of shares being bought back by shorters, I can only but suspect that the big sell orders visible in the market queue are props to put pressure on weak holders and deter buyers.
