We are closer to news than ever. The reality is that there are still 2m shorts yet to be covered. Either they remain that way regardless... that is, as a hedge against volatility either up or down.... or, they are covered at the lowest possible price in a low liquidity market. My gut feeling is that there will be a last-ditch effort going on, which today's action suggest, to get those shorts covered at the lowest possible price (knowing that we are closer to news than ever). And, we know who controls the price action and resultant sentiment, don't we?
