    I can understand your gripe but it's for the kids. Kid's don't care about the economy or the financial crisis. They just wan't to have fun.

    Why don't you take your boat down to the local harbour and watch the fireworks with the grandkids/kids. No parking hassles and it's the best seat in town. You may even enjoy it yourself.
