I've spoken of mum on the humour thread and all true but funnier still when she decided we were now old enough
for her to go back to work. She had not worked since the war years.
One of her friends helped by recommending her for a couple of 2 week jobs and she enjoyed it.
Someone then found out she may be interested in working for him and offered her a part time permanent job that
she ended up enjoying big time. She enjoyed the company of all and was really delighted to be invited to a couple of
21sts and a wedding. She was a fun woman and absolutely came alive in the company of the people she worked with.
She was finally approached by the boss and asked how old she was because he would need to work out her retirement
etc. How dare you ask a woman how old she is young man - I am old enough to be your mother was her reply. ROFL
He accepted that answer unbelievably but we did then discuss retirement and she had worked a little over I think.
She missed her work so much and the friends but some did stay in touch.
She always said it was the best decision she ever made.
