Further to that I have done the sums and for a couple in western Sydney with 2 kids that do sport,dancing or some type of activities (ie live)it costs around $120k just to survive. By the time they pay a mortgage or rent and run 2 cars because both need to work and poor public transport. Throw in electricity, food , health insurance, school fees uniforms etc etc etc...doesnt leave much for a holiday or a rainy day. (oh and dont forget tax!!! if they pay it)
