You make a good case for the government increaing amounts and eligibility for rental assistance. We know the battlers are the only ones that spend. Choke them with excessive rents and the government has to act.

I saw this on my facebook this morning, a woman wrote:

"Interesting article I just read........ that No matter how hard he tries, Wayne Swan can't convince Australian consumers that it is safe to spend, make investments and stimulate the economy......Um what part of people don't have the cash to splash around any more are you not getting??? with the rise in basic living expenses???? we all would love to stimulate the economy, but if it aint there in our pockets like it used to be we can't.......Labour you are a disgrace!"

Clearly this woman is an idiot. She's the type of bird that drives around in the $50,000 4WD and lives in a 40sq home on a 1000sqm block out in the burbs.

Now where has all that money gone?
