"The population of Bautou permanently wear face masks. People claim their hair turns white, their teeth fall out. They suffer from severe skin and respiratory diseases. Children are born with soft bones. Toxicity tests on the lake are kept secret and Chinese officials refuse to acknowledge health risks. Face-masks are sold by the side of the road for passing motorists. Meanwhile the bubbling lake of radio active toxic sludge grows by 3 feet a year. "
1. The Lynas LAMP plant can not be compared with Batou, LAMP being much more sophisticated indeed.
2. But it still shows the potential dangers since Batou is the only REE plant of a similar size.
3. Even 1% of the Batou pollution would be enough to seriously harm 700k people in the Kuantan region.
Things like that are not really popular in this forum.
"Thruth" is what the company claims: "100% safe"
This might or might not be confirmed by the IAEA, an organisation that was foundet in order to "prevent the spread of nuclear weapons with a view to achieving a world free of them, and to make the benefits of nuclear technology available for peaceful purposes to developing countries."
An organisation that has failed many times BTW.
Is this the same math like in Fukushima, Chernobyl and hundreds of other small and large nuke accidents around the globe? I'm afraid it is. The absurd thing is, that this math is being done in the name of "green technology".
