My very limited understanding of petcoke is it is largely a wasteproduct from the oil refining process. It does have several uses including in blast furnaces etc. When oil is no longer needed for ICE cars, some oil will still be needed in some way in the production of plastic I assume, unless a new way of producing plastics and other chemicals can become coast effective. By then NVX may have perfected other ways of producing synthetic graphite or the industry has moved on from graphite completely...
