    I agree, the CX5 TD is an economic unit to run but
    it is more lightly built than the older units.

    Its chief weakness, IMO, is that it has a gear driven water pump
    which means if the water seal leaks, you'll get water
    into the sump.

    Even though the engine has a timing chain , IMO, the water pump should be changed
    at about 100Ks for safety sake.

    By the way, the engine is interference which means that if the chain breaks,
    pistons will hit valves.
