Fellow TPD holders,
When STX took over TPD, we were all allocated STX and TMK shares & options for our lost exposure to Gurvantees (ie Mongolia).
I have since sold all of my TMK shares. The problem I now have is trying to correctly allocate the cost base of my TPD shares across the STX and TMK that I received by way of the Deed of Arrangement. Has anyone else had this same problem, and can they advise me on what they did?
Please do not quote general CGT advice, for I know exactly what I am doing in almost any CGT circumstance, except this one, which "I think" requires market prices on the day for STX and TMK and then a ratio between the two for allocation of the cost base.
Yes, I have read the Deed of Arrangement. There is nothing specific (that helps to sort my confusion) about dealing with this CGT conundrum.
