Australian companies make plans for biodiesel plant project
Transpacific Industries Group Ltd. (TPI) and Australian Renewable Fuels Ltd. (AR Fuels) executed a heads of state agreement in April, according to a TPI press release. The two companies are forming an unincorporated joint venture to look into the feasibility of developing a biodiesel plant in Brisbane, Queensland. The proposed facility, once completed, will produce about 11.8 MMgy of biodiesel annually.

The companies are looking to locate the plant next to an existing cooking oil facility owned by TPI in the Port of Brisbane. Depending on approvals and construction, the facility is expected to be in production by the second half of 2007.
