well my tactics have worked out very well so far......... two days ago I placed bids for a very large number of shorts on resource stocks........ in my eagerness some bids were very close and resulted in a few of those stocks being taken up and then stopped out (with just smallish losses ) due to the large rise in the US markets the previous night...... however I did retain a good number of my shorts that were taken up, and it paid dividends big time today after the US markets reversed 2% last night.......... in addition, due to the crazy volatility a hi ball short bid on the EUR / US that had been lying dormant for a week was taken up and in this short period has made 4%........
stocks currently held are ALQ, ARI, DSH, ERA, SXL , SXY, spot FX EUR/USD.
DLS was closed out as it hit the limit, at a very good profit - the system would not allow me to lower my limit (perhaps the providers computers also have a stop/loss built in )
the long side of the ledger made a relatively smaller loss.... FET - some shares were sold off and a larger number of shares were bought at a much lower price........
a really excellent finish to a good week
we are at a holiday farm for 4 days with the grand kids..... they just love the unrestricted freedom, plus feeding the goats, pigs, cows with all the rotten fruit they have here in boxes....... they have hand fed milk to a little calf, and gathered eggs from the chicken's laying boxes, so its scrambled eggs for breakfast tomorrow morning.....
