Why not wish for world peace? Or an end to poverty? Or an end to hunger? An end to slavery, child soldiers, rape, and a million and one other things that aren't nice?

If you're going to dream of the impossible, dream big, I say - don't go penny ante. :)

Right now, IMO, is the time to be doing your research, looking at what's cheap because of fundamental problems, and what's cheap because of fear, and buy into the latter group of stocks. Don't forget that there can be good reasons for a major fall; just because something used to trade at $10 and is now at about $1.20, doesn't mean it's necessarily an absolute bargain that should go up by a factor of five in short order (and I will loftily ignore anybody who claims that I'm looking pointedly at PDN as I say that. :) NB: I'm using hyperbole to make a point; it does not necessarily reflect the real world situation. Is PEK oversold? You can make a pretty good case on both sides. Me, I'm holding on, in the hope that it'll come back up (and I reckon I have good reason to believe that it will, but let's be realistic: it is a hope, rather than a certainty.) DYOR, make your own decisions, and - as always - don't put in more than you can afford to lose. Oh, and be prepared to accept that you are the only one who is responsible for your choices - blaming others for mistakes or problems that fall into your camp is a sure fire method to lose more.
