Would it be a stretch of the imagination to suggest that this is "trickle up"economics?
It stands to reason that an over supply of labour leads to wage stagnation/deflation and cruels the role of trade unionism.
Perhaps the unions led by the ACTU should recruit new members from the ranks of the unemployed rather than, like a business,
levy union fees on the employed to enable officials to live a smug middle class lives and bugger the unemployed (something like our current crop of Labor Politicians)
