your interest is always appreciated MOWER (or should I call you "COACH").... I am aware of the number of trades happening at the moment....
with the big drops last week in the US markets, and the large amount in longs that I had going I have been trying to redress the situation, and the idea of shorting some tech stocks was an obvious option, plus selling down some of my longs (not so quick off the mark as JONGO I might add), but have bought back into a couple at much lower prices.

so that's the reason for the current splurge in turn-overs. it certainly creates a head spin, but so long as you can keep tabs on it all and the overall returns a good percentage profit, I don't think it should be a problem. hopefully the recent rash of trades will not become a common theme.

while there might be a lot of talk coming from my end, I am still not in the black after 3.5 months, but I do feel that I am better equipped to turn a reasonable profit from all of this.... the more money you have in the more you make / or lose of course...i'm not shy about putting good sums of money into something where I can see very good odds with little risk.... and there has been some excellent flow of information and guidance in the art of trading come out of this forum.

my "style" - didn't know I had a style.... I think that is very much work in progress..... It is most certainly not my desire to be in and out of positions so frequently, but this , as i see it, is simply a reaction to the choppy movement of the market, which is going mostly nowhere but sideways.

so should one be in the market at the moment?? - I say yes, if you can find the opportunities.

or should one have substantial sums short or long in the market at the moment, when no one knows which direction share prices will move - and that's probably what you are alluding to mower.

on that one I guess you need to prove that you can trade, profitably over a period of time in this current market situation, before stepping up to larger amounts.

finding good stocks that are undervalued is almost an impossibility at the moment, so that's why I am in this arena. at some stage there may be some longer term trends to hop on to, but nothing's happening yet.... so how to make the most of all of this

(shorting the tech and biology stocks looks like being a brief one / correction)- if there is any left ?

a lot of rambling here. I hope there is something there that might be of assistance to others.

    gk.
