    There is also a strong correlation between the demise of permanent workers in favor of part time, subbies and contract work

    These in turn were partly caused by arrogant and unreasonable demands by unions for excessive pay increases, which was answered by bosses cutting out permanent workers so as to bypass the union system

    It is much less desirable to employ apprentices when you have a part time work force
    So there are many reasons that TAFE has gone and that there are fewer apprentices who now do a variety of reduced courses of training and learning

    Which incidentally increases the need to "import" people to do those jobs (what a coincidence)
