don’t know how the superstition arose but it was certainly deeply embedded. Maybe it was a bit like the witches thing.
I wondered if there was an element of that male competition thing. You know it was a distraction as men tried to show which one of them was more alpha than the other and men trying to be an alpha in a mine is pretty dicey. I’ve seen it. I’ve tolerated silly men drawing penises during training. Men showing off how tough they are. Men getting into chest beating. Sort of dopey really.
