    There's a big difference between what they are charging and what they are earning.
    The going rate for most contractors is $120 per hour, out of which you need to pay your licences, insurances, running cost of a vehicle, superannuation. accountants etc.
    You would be lucky to keep half of that, and if you are self employed you don't get paid holidays, sick leave, and you end up doing plenty of unpaid hours doing quotes and bookwork.

    Its certainly not a licence to print money.
