I remember reading a Sci Fi novel many years ago and the plot was that these people had discovered a cave under their village full of weird gadgets and tools
They learnt how to turn them on but after a while for some reason they stopped working, of course these people did not know that batteries went flat after some use
The technology was totally beyond their understanding, so they used them until they stopped and them threw them away
An entertaining story but I could never believe that our civilization could go so far downhill to emulate that farcical story
