I think you are heading in the right direction Stapleman.
What we really need to be considering is not our dreams of spending our newfound great windfall, but to examine more realistically how this is (most) likely to unfold - so that we are not taken totally by surprise.
Each of these exploration/development/production situations seems to unfold quite differently, depending on a whole range of variables. Plus, there nearly always seems to be some left field event or corporate manoeuvrings that surprises the market.
We need to identify some basic assumptions and realistic scenarios - a scoping analysis to better manage expectations (rather than wistful speculations).
For example, assuming successful drill results then I think your observations of a possible take-over attempts need to be flagged.
Then there's the funding requirements to maintain our level of equity in the VN asset development, and how this might go forward - as someone has already mentioned (please forgive me, I've forgotten who).
