Couple of observations on this media release.
Its interesting that Great Bear seem to have taken Paul Basinski's lead in thinking the acreage to the south west is worth a look at. Basinski maintains the source rock characteristics at Icewine ARE WITHIN A SWEETSPOT. Thermal maturities, TOC's, frackability all seem to be supportive of some form of play. He has said as much via the 88E presentations and other quoted statements I have posted previously.
Also interesting that Ed Duncan has stated he is enthusiastic re the Talitha well again closer to what Basinski maintains is a sweetspot at Icewine. Seems Great Bear AND 88E are now targeting this acreage.
Its important to note tho that such prospectivity/viability can only be confirmed by drilling.
I see this media release categorically states Great Bear ill drill laerals/sidetracks. Is this why they have reduced drilling to Alkaid and Talitha. Perhaps they wanted to spend more time at one of the more likely sweetspots !!!
