In my opinion it's the short term trader mentality that seems to dominate in this place that screams "takeover, takeover" about just about every stock.
Most probably use charts to decide whether or not a stock is any good, because it's deceptively "easy" and they do not understand company reports (plus they take time to read) etc.. etc...
Short term traders love buying a stock and then immediately getting a takeover offer!
