I see where you are coming from, but I would say the following. ETFs and ETMFs are also traded on the exchange just like an LIC. Yes, they are technically open ended but only authorised participants can create or redeem units. They also offer the opportunity to reinvest any distributions free of brokerage. I guess what I am saying is... if they are the only things drawing you towards LICs perhaps you can start reviewing some of the many listed funds out there.
