Needless to say I use CMC. Personally I find the marketmaker platform a lot easier to use than web platforms - I used to have a small fx account with another firm that had a web based platform (I won't say who it is) and it was too inflexible. I've tried demos on some other cfd providers just to compare but I found the same thing. I'll agree that web based platforms are better if you're travelling around a lot without a laptop but I'm not so using software is fine for me.
I know CMC used to offer a demo trading account so if they still do that's worth checking out to get a feel for it.
