Interesting! I was wondering how a stoush might come down between 'what's good for the environment' and 'what's actually profitable...' Going forward, there has to be room for 'dirty' nickel and 'green' nickel in the market. Then we can see what people can afford, or whether they are willing to put their hard-earned money where their collective mouth is. Ultimately competition and a free-market economy is the best way to solve it. The 'other' path is government control of the means of production, and we all know where that leads...
