PNG government can take up to a 30% stake in any mining projects in the country they see fit. I'm not reading that Highlands is selling anything....but PNG looks like being interested in investing....Not a problem with me....Good to have them aboard and in theory should grease the right wheels for getting projects approved and expedited. Of more concern is Xtrata looking like flogging its share. I can almost understand it.....world demand may slow a little over next couple years and they perhaps don't need this involvement. Anyway, hope things get clearer soon and someone else comes along to develop some world-class/staggering reserves...Otherwise...perhaps HIG and PNG govt do it alone. That would be interesting......and if they are up to it (big question mark)....extremely profitable for us...
