It could be seen as the long way round, but if there is a 'best endevours' clause, the Tony couldn't very well tell shareholders to vote no with some legal issues.
I guess you look at the scenario and think, we'll I didn't want the partners to get 50% because they didn't deserve it, and that is exactly what happened. Keeping another 50% in my view is better that the down side of losing WEG as a jV partner.
We didn't think WEG could cut the mustard, but hey we're offered 50% anyway. The deal fell over, we have 100% and really are no worse off, if anything we are 50% better off whichI was never really part I the plan.
So we are better off ....well at least until the next announcement becomes clearer!
