TSS.
IMO a strategic partner/offtake deal can be beneficial in a not so obvious way....can provide a bidding war in the case of a takeover.
I say this because it was exactly what happened with another Yilgarn Iron ore junior I owned, Polaris metals. Lion group partnered POL taking placements at above market prices, with the understanding of gaining some offtake from the project. Within about 6months or so MIN made a takeover offer and it was on, a bidding war developed. Lion had a 22% holding at that point, counter bidding MIN several times and in the end forced MIN to pay much more than they originally had hoped.
So IMO, whoever is taking this strategic position in CAZ will not only be seeing value in securing offtake from the project, but just as important and likely see CAZ as cheap and a potential takeover target. The Yilgarn area will continue to consolidate as it develops IMO. IMO, taking positions in companies in the region with genuinely good resources (I prefer DSO) appears to be a good investment strategy, for both retails investors and the big Asian steel mill.
cheers.
