Hm. I'll pass.
It is tempting because we have a lot of "me too" momentum investors hugging this shares and they can push this share price back to $15 for no reason.
They are writing down their goodwill, but we (as in investors who can and bother to read the financial statements) always know that QBE has too much goodwill from past acquisitions that is very likely impaired anyway.
But I don't trust the management's disclosure policy. So I'll pass.
If this drop to $10, maybe another look at risk and reward.
6% margin on $15.2 billions revenue. In this industry where you can arrange your own margin depending on your provision, can I trust this 6% if I don't trust the management to be honest and up front?
