The fact they are going into trading halt early is a positive sign in my book.
i.e. they have gas shows and want to prevent insider trading by those on the rig.
If they reached total depth and then when into trading halt, Id be bracing for bad news. But they wouldn't have reached absolute TD yet, surely.
But having said all that, detecting gas shows is a long way from declaring a commercial discovery. I would be bracing for a couple of weeks of anxiety, like the US election.
