FYI
All eyes on National Australia Bank (NAB.AU), which has gone into
a trading halt in New Zealand ahead of a company announcement, expected shortly. No
indication on what announcement is about, although has been recent speculation that NAB
has been in talks to buy Goldman Sachs JBWere's private client broking operations,
with some traders talking about a A$100 million-A$150 million price tag. Both parties
have declined to comment previously, NAB spokesman declines to comment on today's
announcement. NAB shares last at A$23.35. (LMF)
