RTP 112.80, +5.43, +5.1%) on Wednesday said it is in talks with Aluminum Corp. of China, or Chinalco, amid news reports that it will get a $19-billion investment from the state-run Chinese company. However, it noted that the negotiations may or may not lead to a concrete deal, according to a statement posted on its website. Rio Tinto's American Depository Shares have been halted on the New York Stock Exchange and it will request a trading halt of its shares on the Australian Stock Exchange at the opening of trading on Feb. 12.
