I believe the reality is that even if the sp jumped to $25, the shorters who can put up $2m on a day won't be phased if they are planning a T/O.
At $666M (the devils number) when at $4.14, a couple million shorts at $4 is only $8M. That's only 1.2% of the purchase price.
Instead of offering say $15/share or $2.4 billion a TO buyer would offer $2.4 bn. You see, the numbers are the same - the cost of the short doesn't even appear and is rounded out in the insignificant numbers.
