PRW were targetting ultramafic-mafic intrusive complex, it is likely the core will have both classifications. You are being pedantic in the extreme amongst other things.
FYI -
Ultramafic < 45% SiO2, Mafic < 52% SiO2. It is a classification based on silica composition with 45% SiO2 separating the 2. Both have significant Fe and Mg minerals.
