    Trading Halt Request
    Pursuant to ASX Listing Rule 17.1, Fortis Mining Limited (Company) requests a trading halt pending an announcement in relation to the proposed acquisition of a substantial international potash asset.

    The announcement will be released to the market prior to the commencement of trading on Friday 18 February, 2011 upon which the trading halt will cease. The Company is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted.

    In addition, the Company will respond to an ASX price query received on Tuesday 15 February 2011 by the commencement of trading on Friday 18 February 2011.
