Yes invariably the small investor is disadvantaged.
What can you do? I email the company and tell them it isn't fair. Then I vote against resolutions at subsequent meetings and tell the directors, by email, why I am doing so. It's a simple process and has no cost.
Does it work? In some cases we are seeing a surprisingly high level of disagreement to resolutions.
Almost certainly the thing that won't work is just bitching to anyone that you think will listen. I may be useful if you can motivate others to action.
