Eden Energy (ASX: EDE) has been granted a trading halt by the ASX pending an announcement.
The company did not elaborate on the announcement or the reason behind the trading halt.
However, Eden did release an announcement earlier in the day regarding the company�s first sale of nano-carbon fibres to an industrial battery manufacturer to be used in a wide range of re-chargeable industrial batteries, including re-chargeable vehicle batteries.
A small quantity of nano-carbon fibres will be used in 1,000 batteries confirming market demand for Eden nano-carbon products.
Eden has also announced the company received interest from several leading Indian concrete manufacturers for nanofibres to increase the compressive strength of concrete.
The company continues to test the strength nanofibres provide concrete after trials in the US have shown the addition of nano-carbon fibres at 0.1% increases the compressive strength of concrete by up to 19% without affecting flexibility.
Also, initial testing of the fibres with plastics in the US has produced results that increased the strength of the plastic with increased electrical and thermal conductivity.
Eden has put the company�s new Pyrolysis technology on display in India where hydrogen enriched Hythane will fuel two bus trials later this year.
Hythane does not produce carbon dioxide as a by-product and is being ramped up at the Hythane Company. A small scale commercial production level is planned of up to 100 tonnes of carbon per year starting in India by 2012.
