you are presuming wrong..
one way, or the other, costs have to be revealed, barrick probably have a formula (if they are treating for other companies) - the greater the tons, treated, the lower the unit price.
for each treatment of ore, then would be a fixed "set up" cost, as well as a normal treatment cost (on a per ton basis) .
a guy with a truck load of ore, would not approach barrick. years ago, there used to be a lot of "state batteries", where prospectors could take their ore, for treatment
