I'm confident that the environmental stuff will be resolved. The government wants this project and most concerns relate to the fisheries yet the proposed activity is very small in the scale of the fisheries.
If it is Sandpiper then I hope from a MAK holders perspective that the deal is along the lines of Sevo's suggestion where MAK retain a solid indirect interest.
Nobull, i can't see much short term market increase for either company except perhaps removing any cap from the takeover pressure. There's too much still to do. Eg if MAK sell Sandpiper then they will focus on Wonarah. That is good but it's years away from possible production yet. For UCL, Sandpiper is closer but still waiting on the final permits and also it's not clear just how much dilution might come through funding. So I'm thinking prices could be essentially depressed for a while yet in this dismal market - ongoing buy opportunities for the long termers.
