I definitely like the idea of a pre-emptive trading halt. You make your investment - you live with the good or bad consequences when it delivers - or perhaps doesn't deliver. Wish it was standard practise for all O&G listed companies. Kills the loop of cheaters and manipulators....and these are far too common and numerous on the ASX - we all know it. I think trading halts like this add a layer of dignity to the market. Perhaps the only layer.
