In my experience, Maiden Resource counts do occasionally blow the market away (maybe about 10% of the time). But less likely in this case when:

a) the geology is so simple any broker can have the holes plotted for themselves and reasonable guesstimates made based on SYR's cut-off assumptions.

b) it is just for Nicanda Hill, which is a subset of the global resource.

c) the company has been toot-tooting biggest and best in the world for some time, so the upside surprise element is somewhat diminished.

d) stale retailers may be waiting for the first resource count just to cash in and move on.

Please hurl as much abuse at me as you want after I'm wrong rather than before (except if some of that is wrong already). It's just how the market works from my POV. I'm still floating on the sidelines wondering when and if I'll get back into this stock. I think an uptake will seal it for sure, and some cherry-picked resource numbers targeted for initial production will certainly assist along that pathway.
