Great news. They lob the minimum required bid to gain access to the data room. No harm in that. Shareholders/partners of Affinity would demand that they follow a prudent path to a final offer and this appears to be just that. IMO, this is not at all a reflection of their intended offer price. Indicate, preliminary to gain the data they need. Simple.
Now that it's a two horse race (and assuming both go the distance), it's hard to imagine a final offer of less than $3.85. Most likely $4 but time will tell.
Long term it's a damn shame that such a prospective company will be lost to PE but that's the game we play. Was really looking forward to years of very high yield from this one... oh well.
