The news was the resignation of the Managing Director David Toms and his subsequent selling of his 16% interest in Straits at $3.93 per share to a range of investors.
David Toms is acknowledged as having done a good job but the selling of his large interest is good news as it simplified the ownership of Straits with only Alan Keet (who is not represented on the board) with an 18% interest as the sole large shareholder of Straits.
Euroz believe the new ownership structure makes Straits more appealing for corporate acquisition which would now require negotiation with one party rather
than two.
