"Yup - I agree, given that solicitors have requested a trading halt combined with the fact that they will be reviewing the information over the next 12-24 hours suggests that they have been slapped with some kind of legal hurdle before drilling can commence. Could just be a minor detail (someone forgot to dot the i's or cross the t's) or somethong more involved like native title etc.

I think u r pretty close to the mark here....this sounds like a legal issue has cropped up during last 24 hrs, and they need to sort it out..

Maybe drilling may have just started but they have had to halt it due to a legal issue, ARE will go away fix the issue and then re-start. Maybe a week delay to re-start...
