only trouble with the last post is that companies cannot just request trading holts for the sake of it. though you never know with some of these companies!
my sense is it's got something to do with the capital structure. i have it on authority that the majors have UXA on their radar screens, and even the directors acknowledge (via the AGM Q&A) that they lack the financial might and ability to turn an elephant find into an olympic dam (i.e. infrastructure, logistics, capex etc).
i can't see shareholder settling for 35c a share if it were to be offered by a predator. let's be realistic, the minute a takeover offer is offered for this baby, or even a strategic stake i.e. > 10% the entire market will get onto UXA ask why?
now, if the chinese consortium that already own 5% were to take a bigger slice and demand board seats etc which i personally think could be the reason (if it's not to do with a new drill target, results or jv) then this could be it. let's not forget the chinese consortium turned up at the agm and asked some antogonistic questions of the board re directors fees and lack of results. who knows?
