It is a potential answer, not sure if it’s the right one..... one example he gave was: The sales team asks customers to send through a large PO, the company fulfils the PO, and then the customer “requests” to return the goods, instead of returning the stock in the appropriate manner (in the accounts system that is) the customer is issued a credit note. In some cases the physical stock doesn’t even leave the warehouse throughout the entire process.
Not sure if the above makes sense, but it’s one of apparently many ways to pull the wool over management’s eyes.
